Myanmar Pavilion To Collaborate With ASEAN Pavilion At Expo 2020

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a regional grouping comprised of ten members: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. As a member state, Myanmar has actively engaged with the ASEAN community in terms of regional, economical and socio-cultural integration and development. Bringing the motto of ASEAN: “One Vision, One Identity, One Community” to the Expo 2020 Dubai, Myanmar Pavilion, and ASEAN Pavilion have come together to foster the collaborative effort in showcasing the legacy of ASEAN and its member states at the greatest global show.
On 26th September 2021, Levi Sap Nei Thang, Deputy Commissioner General of Myanmar Pavilion, formally met with Mr. Lee Yoong Yoong and Mr. Romeo Jr. Abad Arc from ASEAN Secretariat to visit the Myanmar Pavilion and ASEAN Pavilion respectively in advance of the opening ceremony of the Expo 2020. The discussion has drew inspiration for attracting visitors from all over the world to the ASEAN Pavilion with activities that will not only deliver cultural understanding but also excitement.

ASEAN Pavilion, located in Mobility District, displays examples of ASEAN's rich and unique culture, endearing the region to its citizens and the world. It will be a one-stop shop to understand ASEAN's role in the development of Southeast Asia. Visitors will be able to participate in the “ASEAN Trail Challenge” where they will be issued a game passport upon their first visit to ASEAN Pavilion. The passport will challenge a mission to visit all the pavilions of ASEAN member states, get all the stamps, return to the ASEAN Pavilion to claim rewards before 31st March 2022. Visitors can also join a fun ASEAN Game and VR experience when they visit the pavilion.
13th December 2021, named ASEAN Commemoration Day, will be the most exciting day for ASEAN at the expo with a series of exceptional events. Along with the special attendance of the Foreign Minister of Thailand, all member states will be participating in the morning and afternoon ceremonies of jaw-dropping cultural performances at Al Wasl, the center stage of the expo. The day will also bring up an ASEAN parade, waving the flags of all member states and showing up in colorful national costumes.
“Special thanks to Myanmar Pavilion for your kind support and generosity,” mentioned Mr. Lee regarding Ms. Levi’s contribution towards ASEAN Pavilion. The synergy between the two pavilions will surely bring pride and honor to the ASEAN community back home. Expo 2020 Dubai is packed with endless joy and discovery and ASEAN Pavilion is definitely on the top of the should-not-miss list.
