Cross
The world gives so many definitions to cross such as symbol of curse, death, and sin but Jesus redefined everything when He hung in the cross for our sin. The world saw the cross in different perspective when a 33 year old man hung naked with bruised muscles all over the body and with a thorn crown on the head. However it was divine plan of the God which sealed the gap as a result of human sin. Jesus exchanged everything in the cross so that you and I can live forever with Him eternally. Death and life, hate and love, violence and peace, accusation and forgiveness, sin and purity, brokenness and wholeness, all is lost yet everything is gained, destruction and restoration, defeat and victory. The cross once symbolized as the curse has now changed into blessing and victory over the powers of Satan. Paul in his letters makes it clear “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” It might look foolish to worldly people about Cross, but those who have known Him and the power of the Cross gets strength everyday from it. Jesus rearranged the words Evil to Live in the cross. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 2: 2 “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” There is so much power in the cross and that is why Paul decided to preach only the Cross.
Jesus showed the unconditional love for us through the cross stepping down from all the heaven’s glory and majesty for our sins. Cross is Love and He loved us so much that the Father gave his only begotten Son for us. Jesus could not think eternity without us there in heaven, so he came down in human form bearing all the pain and suffering for us. The message of the Cross remains a gift of love to those undeserving.
The cross made us to reach the holy of the holies when Jesus offered him as the sacrifice for our sins in the cross. The only choice which was offered by Father to bring the redemption for the humans and Jesus took the choice and that shows His humility in both life and death and His love for us. He has done everything and He expects us to love Him back with all our heart, soul and strength.
