Levi Sap Nei Thang Family

Levi Sap Nei Thang is a true embodiment of this adage. Levi Sap Nei Thang hailed from a great family of patriots. Her great-grandparents struggled against colonial powers to safeguard her people and their ancestral country. Many members of her family and tribe paid a high price to safeguard their own land and families. Levi dedicated a memorial on her people's ancestral land in 2017 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of this courageous historic moment. This monument was erected to inspire her people and to commemorate the valiant efforts of those who paid a heavy price for their liberty.
Her personal life was also replete with inspiration for anyone. Unfortunately though, her daughter died as a result of the Cyclone Nargis disaster relief effort in Myanmar. Her daughter was merely a few months old when cyclone Nargis devastated Myanmar in May 2008, over 130,000 people died, and millions lost their houses. She returned to Myanmar days later to help Cyclone Nargis victims. She then organised a team of professionals and volunteers to reconstruct 1380 homes and 20 schools for the displaced. However, she lost her daughter to Pneumonia in Yangon Children's Hospital while on one of these trips. Even while grieving her irreparable loss, she worked tirelessly to refurbish and upgrade the Intensive Care Unit at Yangon Children’s hospital. This modification saved numerous youngsters in need of critical treatment. In loving memory of her daughter, she continues to make a difference all over the world. In addition to this, Levi Sap Nei Thang repeatedly led efforts to help many internally displaced people, particularly by rebuilding schools for children and orphans. Her philanthropic work across the globe continues till today with the same undying spirit and zest.
Despite the ups and downs of life, Levi Sap Nei Thang maintained a positive attitude and strived for prestigious goals, which ultimately landed her among the stars. Undoubtedly, Levi Sap Nei Thang has proven herself as a true philanthropist who looks beyond her personal griefs and adds value to others’ lives. This resilience and drive is not just commendable but also awe-inspiring for the world.
