Expo 2020 Dubai: Myanmar Pavilion Opens Its Door to Visitors

The long-awaited Expo 2020 Dubai has finally been kicked off with a lavish opening ceremony of fireworks, music, and messages about the power of global collaboration for a more sustainable future on the evening of Thursday, September 30th. The full expo site has opened its doors to exhibitors from around 200 countries on the morning of Friday, October 1st.

Myanmar Pavilion is among few pavilions to be fully ready to host the visitors once the expo site is inaugurated. Levi Sap Nei Thang, sponsor and Deputy Commissioner General, along with the staff members of Myanmar Pavilion, led a humble ribbon-cutting opening ceremony with a simple traditional wool and a prayer session at 9:00 A.M. of 1st October right in front of the Pavilion, located at the Sunrise Avenue, Opportunity District.

According to the Expo requirement, visitors have to be either vaccinated or go through PCR testing at the entrance gate in order to access to the area. Myanmar Pavilion also sets the COVID-19 precaution guidelines, encouraging all visitors to wear face masks at all times, sanitize their hands upon arrival and practice social distancing when they explore around the pavilion.

A handful of visitors dressed in Myanmar Traditional costumes arrived at a stoke to cheer the opening and take photos with the glamorous exhibition of Myanmar culture, history and people complemented by a variety of handcrafts, murals, embroidery, textiles, and lacquerware. Ms. Levi welcomed the visitors cordially and exceptionally with the giveaway gifts of her three brand-new limited edition perfumes (check them out!), Myanmar Expo merchandise and custom-made tote bags.

As the first day wraps up, Myanmar Pavilion become a magnet to a diverse set of visitors from different parts of the world, mostly attracting Myanmar citizens residing the U.A.E and providing them a place to be nostalgic about home from this far-away land. Many fellow Commissioner Generals and Deputy Commissioner Generals from African Union and ASEAN Member States also made their appearances and remarked a compliment over the exhibition. The five-year-worth commitment and dream has become a fulfilling reality at Myanmar Pavilion and you should not miss the opportunity to witness the greatest magic of Myanmar at the world’s greatest show at all circumstances.
