Expo 2020 Day 1: ASEAN Member States Visits & Unites at Myanmar Pavilion
Along with the masterful opening ceremony of Expo 2020 Dubai on 1st October 2021, ASEAN Member States Pavilions have opened their doors to millions of visitors around the world and the Expo has become a junction of mobility, sustainability and opportunity.
The opening day was full of hustle and bustle for all the participants, staffs and pavilions from finalizing the display to settling everything down. Myanmar Pavilion was one of the busiest one while accepting many visitors who came to visit a glimpse of their home and meet with Ms. Levi Sap Nei Thang, Deputy Commissioner General and the person behind drawing this pavilion a success.
Myanmar Pavilion did not conduct any celebration of the opening tagged with the official invitations like many others as respect to the situations back home. However, ASEAN friends were kind enough to honor the pavilion with their surprise visit.
Before the Myanmar Pavilion was about to call it off a day, Commissioner Generals and Deputy Commissioner Generals from Singapore Pavilion, Malaysia Pavilion, Indonesia Pavilion, and ASEAN Pavilion visited the Myanmar Pavilion on an occasional tour. Ms. Levi Sap Nei Thang, Deputy Commissioner General of the Myanmar Pavilion, welcomed them with the gift set including her brand new perfumes and Myanmar souvenirs followed by a tour around the exhibition.
The ASEAN fellows enjoyed taking photos together at the Myanmar traditional Pathein Htee corner and in front of jewellry-decorated oxcart, simulating in ASEAN signature hand gesture pose. It was definitely a lovely night of friendship which opens gateways for future collaboration of ASEAN region.
