What is a World Expo?
A World Expo is a global destination for all, where everyone can learn, innovate, create progress and have fun by sharing ideas and working together as a global community. Each expo revolves around different themes to create lasting impacts and foster integration like never before. Since their origin in 1851, until the present day, World Expos have showcased the world’s best and brightest.
Expo 2020 Dubai
Expo 2020 is a world expo event scheduled to be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022 with the participation of 191 countries for the first time in history. It is also the first ever world exposition to be held in MEASA (The Middle East, Africa, and South Asia) region which boasts one of the youngest population in the world. Each participating country will have its own pavilion showcasing unique architecture, culture, and inspiring innovations which make each country unique. The U.A.E is expecting to attract 25 million visitors to attend over the course of six-month event, despite the concerns about the pandemic’s impact on global travel and tourism.
With the theme of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,” the Expo 2020 Dubai will provide a platform to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration globally. Under the main theme, the event will be conducted across three critical priorities. Opportunity: unlocking the potential within individuals and communities to shape the future. Mobility: creating smarter and more productive movement of people, goods and ideas. Sustainability: respecting and living in the balance with the world.
Myanmar Pavilion incorporates unique wooden architecture showcasing Myanmar’s significant culture, deep history and values of its diverse people. It is located in Opportunity District of the Expo Area and visitors will be able to encounter an inspiring journey through five zones where each zone represents the beauty of Myanmar’s diverse people with openness and calm. “This is a result of 6-year-worth vision and commitment. I can’t wait to share the pride of representing and promoting Myanmar with everyone,” said Mrs. Levi Sap Nei Thang, Deputy Commissioner General of Myanmar Pavilion. Visitors will explore a variety of murals, embroidery, textiles, and lacquerware integral in Burmese culture and take home Myanmar souvenirs at the souvenir corner.
