No one likes to be in slavery or bondages, and everyone loves to taste the fruit of freedom in life. This applies to both physical as well as the spiritual life of every man. Many are stuck inside the bondages and deception of the devil being trapped in the pit of sin without seeing the freedom. Real freedom comes from Jesus Christ who had shed every single drop of His blood, to break and free us from the chains of bondage or slavery of the devil.

Freedom from Sin and Bondages

Galatians 5:1 says “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

We are never called to be in bondage when we are born again in Christ because Christ has set us free. When you are washed by the blood of Jesus Christ by accepting Jesus Christ as the personal saviour, you are no longer belong to this world. You are called to be with the Lord forever. No powers of devils, sins or bondages can hold us anymore. Scripture says “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed”. When the Son gives you the freedom, it means it is the real freedom given for every believer of Christ.  

Freedom to Worship Him.

According to the Old Testament, we can’t enter into the Holy of Holies and that place was destined only for the priest and they too can enter only once in a year. However, Jesus in the Calvary brought freedom for everyone to enter into the Holy of Holies by bringing us closer to Him. “At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.” We are given the freedom to worship Him and serve Him anywhere.

Jesus has brought freedom from so many things from sickness, curses, inequities and lies of the devil. More importantly, He gave us freedom from death. Death could not hold Jesus, as well as us. We have a faith that we will be with the Lord of the Lord after our death.

What is not freedom?

On the other hand, we need to understand that freedom doesn’t mean we have the license to sin. Paul says in 1 Cor 6:12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.” Not everything is beneficial is the only thing we need to highlight. We are supposed to do everything according to the will of God, which gives freedom in Christ.
